The Wine:
From that original 0.25ha parcel in Bussia that started this entire project.

Back in 2020, At 17 years old whilst studying at the Alba oenology school, Orlando Rocca asked the family if he could take back a tiny Nebbiolo parcel that had been leased out for years. Then Covid hit, classes stopped, and he suddenly had time. So Orlando did what any young Langhe grower would do: he spent every spare moment in the vineyard until the rows looked “like a garden.”

Orlando calls this Barolo “Sprun”. In local dialect, it means spur — something that sticks out, pushes upward, reaches forward. It also describes the entire project rather well. As Orlando put it himself: this wine is simply “the dream of a boy from the Langhe who hopes one day to see his bottle beside great wines.” Ambition is healthy in Barolo. Especially when it’s backed by good vineyards.

Rose, cherry, tea leaf, orange peel, tar — classic Nebbiolo architecture with surprisingly polished tannins and finesse. A quietly serious Barolo.
